Are standards and awards taking the creativity, joy and soul out of design and construction?
Zoom Regenerative - 'Finding the Soul' series
Zoom Regenerative returns on September 10th with a 'Finding the Soul' series.
Following inspirational conversations over recent months, the first tranche of ‘themes’ for September to December has grown and ready for sharing. The second tranche are growing, ready for January to April and seeds are planted for the third in May to August 2025.
I am delighted that September’s event with Sophie Lacey and in conversation with the ZR community will explore and unpack the sticky issue of built environment sustainability standards and awards
Are sustainability standards and awards taking the creativity, joy and soul out of design and construction?
Are we using the more well-known sustainability accreditations and awards as ‘entry messaging’ to sustainability which could be - alienating clients looking for more than checklist thinking, - outdated in terms of current regenerative, nature-positive approaches, - inadequate in providing the opportunity to lead with strong regenerative and personal messaging or storytelling, - and do not cover any inner development (IDG) aspects increasingly seen as the starting point.
Join us on the 10th of September, 8 pm UK.
Future sessions will include conversations with Ann Vanner on October 15th (Layers), Nicole Craanen on November 19th (HSPs in the Built Environment) and Fiona Gray on December 10th (Children Book). Titles and content for these and more will follow in time.
