As I shared in our Biophilia information session recently, this is truly a wonderful experience. In common with previous years this is far more than just learning about Biophilia and Biophilic Design, although, as you would expect, these are key components. Over the four days, supported by a world-class team of biophilia ‘guides’ you will
Experience - sensing and connecting with nature Energise – your biophilic self Connect - with a cohort of biophilia seekers Explore - biophilia perspectives and Learn - regenerative application of biophilia / biophilic design
The world-renowned team of biophilic practitioners to guide you through the camp activities, included Richard Piacentini USA, Oliver Heath UK, Martin Brown UK, Cristina Lacher (Italy), Alice Piovan (Italy) and Carlo Battisti (Italy)
Wrapped around the ‘biophilia’ programme we include daily Yoga and mindfulness and time for both group and solo reflections. The ‘campfire’ activities will include storytelling, night star watching and deep ecology exercises such as Joanna Macy’s Council of All Beings. All deepening our sense of relationship with our natural world.
Whilst we will never fully understand our relationship within nature and our place within ecological eco-systems, we can sense that innate relationship, and take from that sensing to improve our approach to the design, construction and management of our built environment. (Martin Brown)
Disconnect : Reconnect
I am delighted to once again be leading and facilitating the Disconnect: Reconnect session that encourages participants to disconnect from devices and reconnect with nature, with navigation based on how we sense and feel about where we are in nature. And then taking experiences into our designs.
Agile
Unique to our biophilia camp is the opportunity to learn and explore how Agile project management techniques can assist and support the development, management and realisation of biophilic design plans.
Biophilia BarCamp - you are the biophilic Agenda
To be held on Friday 27 September in Bolzano, The Biophilia BarCamp is a first of its kind unconference style one-day in person event gathering biophilic lovers from all over Europe and beyond, focused on bringing together the latest trends, tools, case studies, stories, and best practices around biophilic topics in the fields of architecture, fashion, art, psychology, leadership and many others. Learning from biophilic peers will boost conversations and advance awareness and practice.
